Fleche

Fleche (불어로 화살이란 뜻)는 팀 이벤트입니다. 몇몇 팀이 한국의 서로 다른 지역에서 3월 31일 오전 11시에 출발하여 24시간 후에 광주에서 만나 다 같이 축하 점심파티를 갖는 것입니다. 각 팀은 최소 360km 이상을 달려야 하고 그 이상을 달리는 것은 팀 자체적으로 결정할 수 있습니다. 각 팀은 3~5명의 사이클리스트로 구성되어야 하며, 팀이 성공적으로 완주하려면 최소 3명이 24시간 내에 광주에 도착하여야 합니다. 각 팀은 스스로 루트와 컨트롤을 계획하여야 하고, 이 루트는 출발 전 코리아 랜도너에 의해 승인 받아야 합니다. Fleche 규칙은 모든 팀이 목적지 (광주)에 동시에 도착하는 것입니다. Fleche 규칙은 각 팀이 광주로부터 약 25Km 떨어진 지점에 22시간 컨트롤을 두도록 하며, 각 팀은 이 컨트롤에서 4월 1일 일요일 오전 9시에 출발하여 광주로 향하도록 허가됩니다. 현재까지 몇몇 팀들이 관심을 보여왔습니다. 서울팀 (팀 리더 한철우), 천안에서 출발하는 광주팀 (한순권, 서상원, 이동호, 헤닉하우젠 외 1명), 그리고 아마도 춘천팀이 있을 것입니다. 팀을 구성하길 원하는 라이더들은 로타 헤닉하우젠 (alpinerandonneur@verizon.net)에게 연락 바랍니다. 팀 지원 및 루트 제출 마감은 2012년 2월 1일입니다.

한국 최초 1200K 그랜드 랜도니

한국에서 랜도링은 성숙해가고 있으며 이제 첫번째 그랜드 랜도니를 위한 시간이 되었습니다. 이 1200K 주행은 광주에서 출발하여 광주에서 끝날 것이며 시간제한은 90시간입니다. 광주에서 라이더들은 해남을 향해 내려가 해남에서 동쪽으로 진행하여 장흥을지나 율포로 간 후, 광양을 지나 비토리로 갈 것입니다. 2011 Brevet에 참여한 사람들은 친근한 길일 것입니다. 비토리에서 북쪽으로 향하여 합천을 지나 고령으로 간 후, 계속 북쪽으로 올라 대구를 오른쪽에 끼고 봉양으로 갈 것입니다. 봉양에서 충주까지는 여러 사람들이 좋아했던 SBS의 루트를 따를 것입니다. 충주에서 참가자들은 서쪽으로 진행하여 천안을 지나 청양과 부여로 갈 것입니다. 거기에서 계속 서쪽으로 진행하여 군산의 서해바다에 다다를 것입니다. 여기서 라이더들은 남하하여 홍농과 영광을 지나 달머리 해변으로 갈 것입니다 (지난 4월 1000K 라이딩을 한 사람들에게는 익숙한 지역들일 것입니다). 달머리 해변에서 라이더들은 목적지인 광주를 향하여 동쪽으로 진행할 것입니다. 모든 코리아 랜도너 라이딩과 마찬가지로 이 라이딩 역시 혼자 힘으로 진행해야 합니다. 1200K 행사에 참여하기 위해선 참가자격이 필요합니다. 참가자격을 얻으려면 라이더들은 모든 Brevet (200k, 300k, 400k 및 600k) 을 5월 25일까지 성공적으로 완주해야만 합니다. 2011년에 1000K나 1200K를 완주한 사람은 자동적으로 자격이 주어집니다.

Fleche

A Fleche (French word for ‘arrow’) is a team event.  Several teams will start from different parts of Korea on March 31 at 11 a.m. and meet 24 hours later in Gwangju, where we will have a celebratory lunch.  The total distance each team has to cover is at least 360km but the teams can decide to ride more than this distance.  Each team has to consist of 3 – 5 cyclists.  In order for a team to finish successfully, three members have to arrive in Gwangju within the 24 hour time limit.  Each team has to plan its own route with controls.  This route will be certified by Korea Randonneurs prior to the ride.  Fleche rules ensure that all teams will arrive at the destination (Gwangju) at the same time.  ‘Fleche’ rules dictate that each team has a 22 hour control approximately 25 km from Gwangju.  Each team is allowed to depart from this control only at 9 a.m. on Sunday April 1 and proceed to Gwangju.  At this point several teams have expressed interest.  There will be a team from Seoul (team leader Han Chul Woo), a Gwangju team starting from Cheonan (Han Soon Kwon, Seo Sang Won, Lee Dong Ho, Hennighausen and 1 other), a Waegwan/Daegu team (Morris, Boonstra, Park In Soo?) and possibly a team from Chungcheon.  Riders interested in forming a team should contact Lothar Hennighausen (alpinerandonneur@verizon.net).  Deadline for team applications and route submissions will be February 1, 2012. 

Korea’s first 1200k ‘Grand Randonnee’

Randonneuring in Korea is a maturing sport and it is time to run the first Korean ‘Grand Randonnee’.  This 1200k Brevet will start and finish in Gwangju and the time limit is 90 hours.  From Gwangju riders will head south to Haenam were they will turn east and cycle past Jangheung to Yulpo and then to Gwangyang and Bitori.  For those who rode the 2011 Brevets these will be familiar roads.  From Bitori we will head north to Hapcheon and Goryeong.  We will continue north to Bongyang leaving Daegu to our right.  From Bongyang to Chungju we will follow the SBS route that many of you liked so much.  From Chungju riders will turn west and ride past Cheonan to Cheongyang and Buyeo.  From there we will head further west and meet the west coast at Gunsan.  Here riders will go south past Hongnong and Yonggwang to Delmeori beach, places familiar to those who rode the 1000k past April).  From Delmeori Beach riders will head east to finish in Gwangju.  As all Korea Randonneur Brevets, this ride will be self-supported.  In order to participate in this 1200k event, riders need to qualify.  In order to qualify, riders need to successfully complete an entire Brevet series (200k, 300k, 400k and 600k) before May 25.  Riders, who successfully completed a 1000k or 1200k in 2011, are automatically qualified.
